Evan's Party #2 - Lethbridge

Evan enjoys a spoon full of the whipped cream that Grandma Terry was putting on the angel's food cake. We had Evan's second birthday party at my mom's house Thursday evening. He'll soon be spending most of his days there when I go back to work (August 8th).

Mhari (and Donna) enjoying a belated birthday present from Scott and I. They brought over a great gift for Evan (again one of those great sound producing gifts, in this case a mega blocks farm).

Evan opens his gifts while I faithfully stuff him with bites of cake. Fortunately eating never gets in the way of his play!

Had to include this picture. Almost every picture of Evan opening his presents includes me in the background stuffing my face with cake. I don't know what came over me, but of course, I was giving Evan bites too!
Evan enjoys his new ball. He ran back and forth across the table throwing the ball and each of us. He's quite talented for his age. And his aim is really accurate.

Evan's First Birthday Party - Yellowknife Style

We had a little birthday celebration for Evan at Bethy (Scott's cousin) and Barbara's (Scott's mom) house. Here he is with all his presents. He was quite happy to see lots of colors and tissue paper... easy to please...
Evan trying to decide whether to like or destroy this strange creature with the exceedingly annoying (to us grownup ears) song. It's neck turned as it sang. He decided he like it.

This is Bethy and her daughters (Lexi and Hannah) laughing at Evan's reaction to the duck they bought him.

Evan enjoys his new book with the sparkling shapes. He loves looking through them, he's even got to the point where sometimes he "reads" in his own baby language to himself.

Evan and Scotti well pleased with the damage done and treasures found.

Trip to Yellowknife

Our trip to Yellowknife was quite an adventure for little Evan. He was very pleased to find cats and dogs everywhere he went.
Evan and Auntie Gevena play with Kitty... Barbara's cat.

And of course Uncle Robin's not going to get left out.
Evan enjoys the camera case. He knows what goes in there!

More quality time with Kitty. She was pretty good and would let him touch her a few times. (She's normally quite the little princess.)
Evan enjoying some watermelon on Grampa Roy's counter
Here's Grampa Roy in the background, making funny faces... he showed Evan a lot of funny faces...
Evan continues to find enjoyment in the simplest of objects, in this case, an exciting silver bowl.

Evan and Kelly - they had a few disagreements, but welcomed each other into the clan by the end of the week.
Evan and Nana Barbara, enjoying some drinks in the sun. It was pretty hot, I got sunburned...

Hello everyone!
Sorry, no pictures or posts for a while. We just got back from Yellowknife. Have lots to tell, but Scott has the camera somewhere and so I haven't any pictures for you. Will get that done soon. For now, Evan's great, had his 1 year immunizations today. He's 31 inches tall and 22 pounds 13 ounces heavy.

Cleaning Time

Evan is learning to clean. He likes to clean the pillows off the couch...

and he likes to clean his clothes out of his cupboard... so much fun! We've moved him into Auntie Nittaya's old room and painted it a beautiful Caribbean blue.

Happy Boy!

Sometimes I think Evan is the happiest boy on earth. And maybe he is! He's got so many great relatives who love him and a great many older kids to play with. He is truly blessed!
But really, who wouldn't be happy to have a fistful of cheese and hotdogs?

No way! Not going to wear the hat! Evan definitely has a mind of his own. One day he's going to decide enough is enough... no more "cute" photos... but until then I'll keep trying.
What a bunch of bruises on his legs! He is always bumping into things and falling over things. I guess it comes with the new "running" and climbing phase. (He still runs with his hands in the air for balance.)

Evan and his dad, practicing climbing and stuff. We will be going to visit more of Scott's family in Yellowknife in just a few weeks. We'll have Evan's first birthday party while we're there.

Evan finally relents... he loves to make me happy! Sometimes... after he's teased me for a while... What a handsome boy! I spoke to my branch manager today, I'm slated to go back to work Aug 7th, which will actually be Aug 8th because here in Alberta we have a Civic holiday long weekend that weekend. I'm both excited to be going back to work and apprehensive at how hard it will be not to be home with Evan. I'm sure we'll all manage very well though. Evan will be staying at grandma Terry's most of the time.

Evan's First Hair Cut

After weeks of Evan's hair hanging over his ears and different patch lengths, Scott decided to take matters into his own hands and buzz cut those golden locks...

Evan did really good, didn't fuss or anything. Just played with toothbrushes and all the other exciting sink things.

And here he is with his new hair... see any?
