Evan's 3 Years Old!

We had a great birthday party today! It was sunny, warm, there were water balloons, water toys and mini-pools. Lots of kids came (with their parents). Evan had a blast.

We started the day with a present and then party prep. It's so much work! I've decided not to do that again, until next year at least... Isaac won't need a party with friends when it's his turn; it's just not important when you turn 1 year old.

For all of you who couldn't be there, thanks for your calls, cards, presents and best wishes!

A Belated Happy Canada Day!

It's been a little while since there have been any updates, so here's the news. We've had a busy month. We moved into a new home (not literally, it's a 25 year old, lots of character house) and, while that was a big job, we had lots of great help and are really enjoying being in a space that's big enough for our little family.

We have a great deck in the back with a slide off it to the backyard where there's a play structure (one of those big ones). We have a great little den in the basement where all the toys have been banished to and lots of room all around. (Scott's favorite is the vaulted cedar planked ceiling in the living room - main floor. I can't decide what my favorite part is - maybe a bathroom on every floor?) I'll try to remember to get pictures and post them.

In addition to the big move, my baby brother got married. Crazy!!! Here's a few shots of them cutting cake. As usual, I forgot about my camera until the last possible photo op presented itself.

For those of you who haven't been introduced, meet Chris and Julie Purvis!

Scott performed the ceremony, it was a great time, lots of family were able to make it. It was two days before our move, so it was a bit of a crazy time. I'm afraid I didn't help much with the work, but it was really nice to not have to :) Mom and Julie's mom did a great job with the help of quite a few friends and family.

Of course a post on this site could not go without a couple cute shots of the most handsome boys in the world. They are both doing great. Evan has become quite the conversationalist while Isaac continues to charm with lots of smiles and baby babble. Isaac can sit unsupported and is beginning the hands and knees rock that'll lead to crawling. Evan and I are working on potty training, but we won't go into details.

Evan will be 3 on the 19th so I've got to get started planning a party for him and his friends.

Evan goofs off in one of the many empty boxes while we were packing. The goggle find was like discovering buried treasure.

One of many smiles, this boy is a ray of sunshine!

Unexpected glitch, more room in house, not enough furniture! Evan and Isaac are enjoying a baby einstein show on the iMac. Filling up and changing this house to suit our taste will be a fun but long term project. I've got big plans...
