Vacation in Mexico

Here are some cuddly brother shots. In our hotel room. We had a room with two double beds and a sofa bed, so everyone got one except Isaac who shared with me. It was a very comfortable room with one of those bathrooms that everyone wants. The separate toilet, separate shower, giant bathtub (which was great for all the clothes I had to wash for our two week trip.)

We stayed at a beautiful place, really big though so we all got a good workout just from all the walking around. Lots of seafood at the buffets/restaurants (it was an all-inclusive, we thought that'd be easier with two small children) so I really enjoyed the food.

This is the view from our room - we got to see small and large sailboats, even a cruise ship in the distance.

The boys lounging on the lounge beds by the pool as we wait for the buffet to open. There were four pools and each was set up different, some with pool bars, one with a cafe type restaurant.

"Hang Loose"

Evan found a flower - he was pretty excited... All the other flowers were attached to plants so they were off limits.

Evan spent a lot of time playing in the sand and getting it all over him. Then he'd spend the rest of the day in the pool. If anyone wonders how we kept him pearly white - spf 50 was the weapon of choice. Scott and I burned with the spf 15 we had - I managed to tan to a light pink... hooray for being a redhead!

The ocean (this was the Caribbean side of Mexico, the Mayan Riviera) was absolutely beautiful. All along the horizon you could see breakers over the reefs. It was fairly unspoiled. The beach was kept pristine by workers raking up any seaweed.

It was warm for most of our trip although we experienced the occasional cloudy/rainy afternoon. The boys went down for naps then so we didn't miss much.

I had to tickle Evan to get him to smile for the camera. He kept doing his "mad" face.

This is my favorite shot of the boys together from our trip. Pretty cute, eh?

Scott flying Isaac towards the camera, that's always good for a giggle.

We really enjoyed our holiday although it was really different being part of a "tourist" type crowd and doing the "tourist" type holiday. (Obviously not something we're used to.) Fourteen days was just long enough. We're happy to be home, but we never got tired of the ocean or the sunshine. Most of our holiday time was about entertaining the boys but we all really enjoyed spending our whole days together. Scott's a little sad now to be working again just for that reason, although he enjoys his job.

I personally am looking forward to the rest of my year with the boys. With beautiful spring days coming up there's going to be a lot more going to the park and playing outside so there's lots to do.
